The Challenge at Manele combines a breathtaking oceanside location with the distinct course architecture of
golf’s Golden Bear (Jack Nicklaus). The Challenge is a par 72, links style eighteen with five tee positions,
ranging from the black tees at 7,012 yards to the reds at 4,768 yards. The blue tees measure 6,086 yards.
Built on lava outcroppings along Lana‘i’s southern coastline, the course winds through stands of native kiawe (mesquite) and ilima trees and a number of archaeological sites, some of which date from pre-contact times. Three holes run parallel to the cliffs at Kuopoe Bay, so the Pacific Ocean is your oversized water hazard.
Fairways are made of Tifway grass and greens are planted with Tifdwarf grass, a hybrid bermuda.
Open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
